HOW IT WORKS

Simply – pick a pot and paint it! There’s lots of choice and something to suit everyone - from dragons to butterflies, tableware and keepsakes. Here are a few examples but check out the Galleries to see lots more items and gain some inspiration.

Not artistic? No problem, our friendly helpful staff will demonstrate some
easy and effective decorative techniques to help you create your own
unique masterpiece, such as spongeing, painting and stencilling (below).

What happens next?

Once you have finished your masterpiece we will glaze and fire it for you. This is an overnight process and we ask you to call back a few days later to collect your items. If you cannot call back we can arrange to post the items on to you.

In a hurry?

If you are unable to wait for glazing and firing, an alternative may be to decorate your chosen item using acrylic paints. These are ready to take away as soon as the paint is dry – usually about 30 minutes after painting. However these paints are NOT food safe, so they are only suitable for ornaments and trinkets.

Take Away Kits

No time to paint? Try one of our ‘Take To Paint’ Kits. These include 4 small bottles of acrylic paint and one brush. Extra colours and different size brushes are available if required. Acrylic paints are not suitable for tableware as they are not food safe or water tight. However they are suitable for figurines and ornaments.

Mobile Service

A mobile service is available for all interested groups with a minimum of 10 adults or children wanting to paint. This is a great activity to run alongside a school open day or similar. Booking is required at least a month in advance, local area only. Payment will be required on the day.

How the mobile service works

A choice of pottery items will be agreed in advance. All equipment, paints and brushes are provided. Tables and chairs and access to a water supply will be required. No special table covering will be needed as the paints wipe off, and wash out of clothing.

Instructions and guidance will be provided on the day. Painting will take up to one hour depending on age. Some additional adult supervision will be required for the under 5’s!

Items will be taken away for glazing and firing and they will be usually be ready within a week. Delivery/collection by arrangement.
